Our inquiry for hapiness

The more knowledge we acquire,
the less wisdom we seem to have.
The more economic security we gain,
the more boredom we generate.
The more worldly pleasure we enjoy,
the less satisfied and content we are with life.
We keep saying to ourselves that somewhere,
sometime we will stumble onto the secret of happiness.
Sometimes we feel that we have obtained it - only to find it illusive,
leaving us disillusioned and unhappy.

These thoughts and more haunt our hearts and souls. When one realizes that anything worldly is as dust and of no treasure. Because every idol and worldly substance once lived for was a waste and would only have become rotten and broken within time. This is that moment when one searches for the deepest longings and emptiness held within their soul. After this occurrence one decides to find a Savior or to go back to all his idols that he knows have no value. God has different timing for everyone. Some see this realization as something beautiful, but most learn the hard way and keep going through idols until god is forced to bring them to their knees.

The worst feeling known to every human would have to be the emptiness that is felt within ones heart and soul. The longing for something more. Only one can communicate fully with our heart. If anything else if placed in that position it will only leave our hearts broken and in need of mending. God calls to us through our heart every moment of our lives. It whispers to us on the wind, invites us through the laughter of good friends, reaches out to us through the touch of someone we love. We've heard it in our favorite music. Sense it at the birth of a first child. Have been drawn to it while watching the shimmer of a sunset on the ocean. This longing in our heart is the most powerful part of every human being. It fuels our search for meaning, for wholeness, for a sense of being truly alive. However we may desire this deep desire, it is most important to us. Our heart of hearts, the passion for life. The true story of every person in this world is not the story you see. The true story of every person remains within.

Many people turn to alcohol to try and drown the cryings and longing s of their heart and soul. Others attempt to quiet the longings in other ways.

Our lives go on while we feel utterly useless and empty. We know the answer of how to fill this gap, but in order to do so, we have to break apart from our flesh and the idols we inhale like oxygen. God will find a way to break us to our knees, and we will usually ignore him once again and find a way to drown in our stubbornness.

As for me, I try fulfilling my soul by buying clothes and wasting away my mind and time on this pointless computer. Never have I felt so miserable. While knowing what unfortunate path I am following, I follow it anyways.

Why must I do this? why must so many of us do this?

It's as if we're walking dead corpses addicted to addictions dissolving into dust.

God is right there, yet a lot of the time, we refuse his help in order to return to our selfish and sinful ways.

Afsheen, you're the most inconsiderate person i think i have ever seen leave a comment. Someone is expressing their feelings in writting and art, and if you don't like it, then why are you taking the time to comment on it? Maybe we want to know how she feels, and the struggles shes facing right now. Beating people down for your lack of sensativity and understanding is just plain wrong.
Besides, who are you to comment when, as you said, "if your reason is like my own in wanting to try and talk someone INTO suicide." That is just plain sick on your part.
And on top of that, stealing a girls purse in 7th grade. If you don't like it, why'd you read it, and an even better question, why did you steal her purse, why are you commenting on here?
The Lord commands us to let others help us with our burdens. He died on the cross for us, so that we may be saved from the falls of this world, in which you seem to be caught. And so we can have a relationship and felloship with God, and other believers. Poetry and drawing are her way of expressing herself, thinking things through, and talking with God, and others. That is the reason for this blog. If you do not agree, that is fine, but please do not put your opinion on this blog, unless you change the condition of your heart. If you are not a Christian, then you probobly won't be able to understand any of this, anf if you are, then you need to let the Lord do a clean sweep of your heart, my friend.
Lora, i love how you are open and express how you feel, the struggles you are having, and how the world seems to fall into all the mistakes and mis-leadings we all do many times. I do not know who afsheen is, maybe you do, but those are the comments you need to ignore. Now, i will say this, if you are dwelling on these thoughts all the time, and making yourself hurt worse, i think it would be good for you to stop thinking those and try to focus on the truth. Even though it may seem like you're lieing to yourself. Set your mind on good thing. For, as a man thinks, so he is.
Now that is more like, For as a man focuses, so he is.
We all must change our focus from dark things, to light. Its hard, and we will fall, but its necessary. I love you lora, and please keep going, and take what i said to heart. You're an amazing writter, and your art is very beautiful and a great representation. The skill level alone in your art amazes me. Try using some brighter colors, and maybe, read how Paul describes heaven, and try drawing and focusing on that. I love you, keep strong.

I actually blocked Afsheen from making comments on my site because he's a complete idiot. But somehow there was a page view from his site to mine and then I found this site. I think the writing is good. Regardless of what jerks like Afsheen say. He's a person with some serious issues and in desperate need of major medication. Don't let his comments bother you or change your writing. Never forget this is your blog and you can write whatever you want. I think I mentioned him in one of my posts as being a nut case.

Some people are more sensative then others. That wasn't my arguement, i was only pointing out the fact, that #1 i don't know who you are, #2 from the sounds of it, and what all you said, like telling her to go drink, it didn't sound like you were really trying to put your opinion, more like bash her down. I don't really care how you percieved it, i simply said the truth. Take it how you will.

Afsheen Nomai, you sick minded person, GET OUT OF HER BLOG!!! Keep your psychotic comments to yourself. Confine your views to your Nihilist Assault Group blog. Nobody wants a stranger ripping her posts like you are. Like Stephanie said, if you don't like it, don't comment. This brings up your motive. Do you surf blogs looking for people to spam like this? Maybe you seriously like sarcasm, but that doesn't give you a right to it! No person has a right to hurt another. Your "free thought and opinion" is nothing but hateful insensitive words with the purpose of tearing down. You never have a right to use them for such. Don't be surprised if she censors you. She's only blocking someone who is ridiculing her, hating on her, and wishing her to die! She's not even suicidal, fool. Did you ever realize that she's right about her insights on life? She realizes the truth of our depravity, but unlike YOU, she still looks for hope, even if she can't see it. She's clinging to something that will never fade away, while you drown in your disgusting cynicism. That makes her stronger than you. You're like a boy kicking an injured puppy, and then mocking it for crying out. Afsheen, get off Lora's back, NEVER comment her stuff again, and LEAVE HER ALONE!!!

heh, afsheen, you just redeemed yourself somewhat. I do agree with you about our society, and i'm sorry it can be very, very, very hard to tell what is scarcasm through a comment from someone you have no idea what they are like. But, i speak from experience in saying, that some of the things lora has been through, that she hasn't really ever talked about on her, was and is very painful, and its not just her being "emo" to fit in. Shes had health, family, and school problems, not the little shallow ones either. I know how that feels, to a very deep level....Its hard because its now typical and funny to laugh at those people, yet that catagorizes the people that REALLY are hurting and having horrid things happen in their life, as non-existent fakers, or complainers. As for myself, i think we can find some other way to find humor, or,at least make sure the person would know that we were being scarcastic. As for the critisism, its good that you're honest. But, yet again, not knowing someone can make a comment seem alot worse then it is. For people that are already down and not doing too well, that can make them cry. I speak for myself, when i say that i've had people comment to me about the smallest things when i was down, and i just wanted to go home and hold my lizards alone. (well...lizard now...) We all experience pain, and we all deal with it differently, i don't think its for us to critisize how someone deals with their emotions. Thank you for explaining where you were comming from. Because i did not sence the scarcasm anywhere in your comment. It just looked plain mean. ....to be honest, i'm really not a self righteous person....right after i saw your comment, i wanted to say some things....that...uhm, wouldn't have been so nice...if you know what i mean. We are all nice people here, just caught off guard and in a mis-understanding. Though i would appretiate it, if you weren't as...bluntly open in some scanarios. Lora, i love you. I've gotta go finish cleaning the house, and take care of my dogs and lizard. Hope everyone has a great weekend...its our last one of freedom....
